Why does vincent's gun go off?

well that’s just b/c he didn’t really think through the consequences of shooting him in the face. i mean just when you watch the movie it’s completely inappropriate for him to be waving that stupid gun around the car, can’t be an accident. if it’s an accident then vinnie is just a complete idiot, should have found someone more idiotic to play him instead of travolta, or travolta should have played him differently. just think about it. first lesson of gun safety is not to point the gun at anyone or anything. and travolta doesn’t just casually hang around pointing the gun accidentally–it’s not really a forgiveable mistake, not like he’s jumping out of the car or doing something normal when the gun just happens to go off; no, he goes through a completely awkward movement to crane the huge pistol around to point at the back of the car, over his seat, then pulls the trigger once when it’s lined up with marvin. it’s completely ridiculous.

granted vinnie is an idiot. who stakes out a house then leaves his submachine gun on the kitchen counter while he takes a dump while he’s waiting for his target to come home. conceivable that he didn’t kill marvin on purpose but i believe deep down he wanted revenge against marvin for what happened. and that is a level of stupidity even beyond his getting killed by bruce using his own gun.

it’s interesting that bruce willis the son of warriors uses people’s own weapons against them. katana, machine gun.
