Maybe Vincent hates Butch because he sees him as some kind of a sell-out, due to him agreeing to go down during the boxing match and take money for it. Even though what Butch does is illegal and Vincent is a criminal, Butch’s actions break a certain code of honor upheld by the criminal underground.
