Actually a lot of Shakespears work is full of cynical wit and black humour, it depends whether your examining his dramatic tragedies or his comedies…mind you Othelo ends preety much the same way as RD, everyone preety much getting killed by last few pages so their all dead at the end…maybye QT was inspired by classical english playwirtes…all though I some what doubt it 
Anyway, getting myself back on topic, I definetly agree that PF and should be classified under a crime category, theres to much comedy, black humour, wit and groove for it to be a ‘Drama’…but well you wouldnt really classify it as comedy would you.
