No it made money because it was good. The films you listed plunder didn’t even make a 10th of what Titanic grossed. Admit it everyone. Titanic was a good movie. You’ll feel better about not having to lie about it. You just say you don’t like it because
A - You don’t want to look bad.
B - You haven’t seen it in forever.
C - Its too friggin long and emotional(Mystic River)

The last hour and a half of Titanic is spectacular. Don’t tell me it isn’t, 'cause it is. The first half is boring as fuck but the second part makes up for it in spades. If I was Cameron I’d be offended that they’re comparing Titanic to a shitty Jennifer Lopez romance flick. In essence, is Titanic a good movie? Yes. Did it deserve 11 Oscars? Hell no. Does it have bad lines of dialogue? Fuck yeah.

I didnt exactly research those movies, and obviously they didnt make anytihng compared to what titanic did, but at one of my local video shops, they were popular rents when they first came out.
Ok, please stop generalising me and assuming you know what im about, because those three things you listed are very incorrect. I didnt like it because, the two main charcters acting was horrible, which i didnt even realise until i watched it on tv last year, becuase before that the fist time i watched it was a pre teen. So yea, ive seen it recently. It isnt to long, i like long movies, but in this case it didnt help any, although i understand why it had to be so long, thats not my beef. The emotional level apart from the deaths during the second half was adolesant. I wasent impressed. The whole thing felt like it was served up to 15 year old girls. It didnt feel honest. The first 5 minutes and the last hour were ok, but the first was just horrible. And this is my opinion, not yours, so just because we disagree dosent make me wrong, and dosent mean i am lying. I feel no need to lie to a bunch of people over something so trivial as a movie.

Fuck yeah. That was one of few movies that just sucked me into it’s story, I was totally immersed into it’s atmosphere and well fucking done to Mr. Eastwood for some truly outstanding direction.

Coffee And Cigarettes is no perfection, a swell movie it is, nothing else.
Ask someone who claims it is perfect what was it about. I bet most of them has only seen the first minutes, the others belong to this new, wonderful wave of people that like to find a deeper meaning. In everything. The same with Lost Highway, I don’t like it, even if there is a meaning, it doesn’t make it masterpiece instantly.
