What book did you just buy?

I agree with pants. Bateman goes in quite a bit of detail to describe his everyday life in the first chapters. And the way he talks about people may get tiresome at first. He’s always talking on the clothes they’re wearing and stuff, but you get accustomed to it after a while. The murders are much more sinister than in the movie, and at the same time it is filled to the brim with dark humour. There are entire chapters dedicated to reviewing 80’s bands like Huey Lewis and the News which I found nothing short of hilarious.

Lili, I am halfway through Less Than Zero and enjoying it quite a bit, though I far prefer AP so far. I can’t possibly understand how they managed to make a movie out of this though, since all the characters seem to do is hang out with each other and nothing really happens. I enjoy Bret’s style of writing a lot though. In a way he’s like Tarantino. His characters just hang out with each other, but you never get bored of them.
