I’m really interested in picking up American Psycho some day. Does the book go deeper into the whole 80’s american Yuppie community, or is it more into mystery?
[/quote]Put it this way: the first quarter of the book seems like it’s Patrick essentially describing everything in his apartment, all of his material possessions and every stitch of clothing everyone is wearing at all times. It’s almost too much. After like ten pages, I was like “Okay, I get it, consumerism haha, let’s get on with it” but once it picks up it’s an incredible read.
I’ve only read Less Than Zero/American Psycho from Ellis, but do enjoy his style. It’s like a sad mirror of society, I was actually depressed for like a week after reading Less Than Zero ;D
