no reason, because it looks cool and old school, kurosawa like

because it wouldnt look half as cool if it was shot in real life, it would be impossible to shoot it actually

1 - To get past the american censors without getting a nc17 rating, hopefully the directors cut is in color or I will cry like a little girl.
2 - Also to get past censors since you can’t show a 12 year old girl having sex with an old dude then gutting him and shooting his body guards in the head.

Alright, I deffinatley agree with them not being able to show a 11-12 year old doing such violent acts. But what do you mean by your first statement…how does a scene being black and white help with lowing censorship? The only thing that scene being black and white would make “better rated” is the fact that the blood isn’t such a bold red color to make it seem more nauseating.
I’m thinking…maybe the black and white scenes have to do something with a more artistic view on beatrix kiddo’s past…; The black and white showing her flashbacks that are most significant to the storyline.

You don’t know. In the movie the cartoon sequence was perfect, but I would love to see it shot with actors and everything.
