It also adds a shock effect…suddenly people draw guns and shoot, out of fucking nothing…you go from relaxed dialogue to blood pumping action.
I also would like to say this:
QT is really a master of building tension and creating moods…
First he makes you relaxed and then he hits you with strong violence…thats why the rape scene in pulp and the earcutting in dogs seem so over the top, but if you compare the shit that goes on in other movies…its really not that violent…here shines the star of QT at its brightest…
