Seventh season of ‘The Sopranos’ rumored
NEW YORK CITY, N.Y., – It looks like Tony Soprano and his
dysfunctional family of mobsters will live on for a seventh
season on cable’s HBO, TV Guide.com said. Creator David
Chase had insisted he would wrap up “The Sopranos” after
the upcoming sixth season, but TVGuide.com reports HBO has
convinced him to keep the mob hit going one more time
around. The sixth season is in production now and scheduled
to begin airing next March. But now, TVGuide.com said Chase
is considering tacking on some extra episodes and running
them as a shortened seventh season. If the speculation holds
true, at least fans won’t be forced to wait two years for
their “Sopranos” fix. The last episode of season five aired
in June 2004.
PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!
its official!!! just got the email from HBO 8)
Chase Will Produce More Sopranos
Saying he was “obviously delighted,” HBO chairman Chris Albrecht announced on Thursday that the network will produce eight bonus episodes for The Sopranos’ upcoming sixth season. The new episodes, which are slated to debut in January 2007, will follow the previously announced 12 episodes, which begin in March 2006.
“When something is as remarkable as The Sopranos, our audience would like to see it continue as long as possible,” Albrecht said. “So we’re thrilled that David Chase felt that there are more stories to be told.”
Brad Grey, executive producer of the series added that the show had “continued to grow and evolve” with every season. “We’re all looking forward to spending more time with The Sopranos,” he said.

‘Sopranos’ Creator Confirms Finale
The sixth series of mafia family drama The Sopranos will be the last according to the show’s creator David Chase. Chase remained elusive about how the story would unfold, but confirmed there would be eight bonus episodes for fans to look forward to after the final season is over. He says, “There will be these 12 (forthcoming episodes) and then another eight, and that will be the end.” Rumors of The Sopranos appearing in a feature length film were knocked by Chase, producer of Northern Exposure and The Rockford Files, who claimed any ideas for the movie have already been used up. He says, “We haven’t talked about it in a long time… It’s hard to see how it would work. I think what we’re going to be doing the next year and a half would have been that movie.” Award-winning lead actor James Gandolfini insists his days of playing dominating father figure Tony Soprano are over. He says, “I’m too tired to be a tough guy or any of that stuff anymore. We pretty much used all that up in this show.” Series six begins in the US in March.

So there is season 6 with 12 episodes and then another 8?
I would ve loved it to never end, but that would ruin it at the same time. Well at least there are still 20 episodes for me to look forward too! If I am correct…
How many people are already watching season 6? I havent seen any episodes yet of 6, so be gentle with the spoilers
I have 8) I’ve seen 9 episodes of season 6 now, and I’m downloading the 10th as we speak 8)

SPOILER
[color=black]Vito prolly gets whacked

Haha, you know why?
SPOILERS
[color=black]Some guys saw him in a gaybar dressed in a leather police uniform. He now lives in some town with a gay biker doing gay things. Phil really wants to kill Vito.
[color=black]Oh, and Paulie might have cancer :’(
fuck me for reading that :’(
There are some mild spoilers in my post so if you don’t want to see anything that might spoil the show for you, don’t read, but if you do, you won’t find anything earth shatteringly important to the plot. Okay, now thats out of the way:
Personally, I think Season 6 of the Sopranos has been the weakest ever. I thought the creators of the show would be smarter than trying to hash out a Brokeback Mobsters debacle. Everybody hates the character of Vito and finds all of the time wasted on him and his gay affair irritating. The show is in its last season and do we get to see any of the characters we’ve grown to care about like Paulie, Christopher, Silvio, etc. etc…no! Nearly half of every episode is dedicated to a peripheral character whom no one cares about and never liked in the first place. I hope the final eight episodes are not merely bonus filler, I hope they contribute to the actual plot of the overall show, because absolutely nothing has happened during the latter half of this season.
‘Sopranos’ Stars Warn "Pay Rise or We’re Off"
Cast members of hit mafia series The Sopranos are demanding higher salaries after the show’s bosses secured a string of lucrative rerun rights and staggering DVD sales. Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who plays Meadow, Robert Iler, who plays A.J., Steven Schirripa, who plays Bobby Bacala, Steven Van Zandt, who plays Silvio Dante, Lorraine Bracco, who plays Dr. Melfi, and Tony Sirico, who plays Paulie ‘Walnuts’, are all demanding a substantial rise before signing up for the final season, set to begin next month. They’ve reportedly threatened to walk out unless their wages more than double. However, network HBO is only offering a fraction of their demands, and may be forced to write characters out of the series if they don’t settle. A source tells the New York Post, “It’s coming down to the wire. HBO just doesn’t want to pay. No one has deals and they’re very far apart. (Show creator) David Chase has tried to help the actors, but even his pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The guys want (a new deal) to happen. These are the last eight episodes, and the money is going to be coming in for HBO for years to come. But the actors get no residuals - and they want to be compensated. They’re being treated like dog s**t.” An HBO spokesman refused to comment on the pay
Sounds only fair I think…as long as they are fucking doing the last 8 episodes… >:(
am I the only one who thinks Tony Sirico is a horrible actor? we all love Paulie Walnuts, the character, but the guy isn’t much of an actor, you notice that if you watch a diffrent film with him, i recently saw Smoking Stogies, a horrible film, don’t see it, and he also plays a mob-guy in it and it’s EXACTLY Paulie Wallnuts, if you walked in you’d think i was watching Sopranos, same accent, same body language, always has his 2 thumbs and index fingers together holding something, a very one dimentional actor
Joe Pesci’s played the exact same character in Casino and Goodfellas too, but I would not call him horrible. Far from that.
I don’t watch The Sopranos by the way, so I can’t really comment on the guy in question.
He is just one of those typecasted guys…he is GREAT as that character, but he really cant do anything else…Tony Sirico that is, Joe Pesci can do lots more 8)
Pesci just suffers from being soooo fucking awesome at those roles that he becomes those roles…seeing him doing anything else is almost a dissapointment before even watching it…
Pesci will always be Pesci, if its Gone Fishin’ or Goodfellas, you gotta love the fuck! we all love Walnuts cause he gets all the funniest one liners in the show, not cause of his acting or attitude his character is just brilliant, 60 year old bachelor who lives the way he did in the 60’s with a modern twist to it 8)
