i didnt say german cinemas don’t have surround sound, i was just stating that i agree with the fact that for owners of really good equipment, going to the movie theater might actually be kind of a disappointing experience. i’d have to spend almost 50 or so bucks just to commute to and from a movie theater that (occasionally) screens in digital (but is otherwise an amazing theater by the way). unless you live in a big city with a multiplexx or program cinema that has made the upgrade, most theaters i’ve been to mostly sucked, but of course not all.
i agree that the experience is more than surround sound and screen resolution, but it is a factor. if i pay 8 bucks for a ticket to a movie that was shot a few months ago, it better not look scratched and blurry, that’s just not what you paid for. despite the pop corn ,and the friends and the girl on your side…
