A topic about Toho films…
Does anyone know where i can get good copys of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah [1991], Godzilla vs. Destoroyah [1995], Godzilla vs. Biollante [1989] and (Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster) [1971]
preferably with Japaneses language options… in fact if there even is a copy of Godzilla vs. Biollante on dvd id like to know…

EE has released Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (which is an awesome movie, btw). The Smog Monster aka Hedorah is also available from EE as well as R1 Sony (which I have, and which comes with subtitles instead of dubtitles like some of their other big-G titles)
Destroyah and Biollante (both good but not exceptional films) have both been released in HK by Universe.
EDIT: notice that EE is having a Special Price campaign on their Godzilla titles (AU$15 each). I already ordered King Ghidorah, All Monsters Attack and Ebirah.

Having been hit by a sudden blindness attack I didn’t notice Eastern Eye too has released Destroyah. So screw the universe dvd and go for the EE.

Should we keep this as Toho thread or change the title to ‘Godzilla/Kaiju thread’? Myself I don’t have any special fandom for Toho (that goes to Toei) but if someone else wants to discuss Toho films in general then it’s okay. I’m just not sure if there will be much (or any) discussion…

I actually hadn’t thought to use madman until you mentioned it before, ive used it in the past… i checked it out, the version they have looks very good ( about a thousand times better then the destoroyah & space godzilla double feature… so i think ill use madman, accept in the case of the Biollante which i dont think they have… in fact it seems to be one of the more difficult ones to get, in fact i was only able to find video copys before i asked you…
Miramax Films obtained the rights to release the film in America, and probably was but perhaps because the movie underperformed in Japan… and an alleged lawsuit by Toho against Miramax for defaulting on the $500,00.00 owed for the American distribution rights to the film, they didnt, Miramax sold the movie to its home video division, HBO Video, who released it direct to home video. Unedited accept with a bad dub…
but the version one in the link you provided looks good and is surprisingly cheap…

Godzilla versus… uhm… a big flower. Yep. We’ve also got industial spies who look like middle east terrorists, a big bad american underground company threatening the world piece, and a girl who can communicate with flowers. All the ingredients for a good movie in other words. Not quite as slick as Godzilla vs Mothra but moderately good fun with one of the more memorable supporting monsters.
