True. People need to just accept this isnt The Dirty Dozen 2. Its a QT WWII film. No rules apply.
we all know that but mike myers is still fuckin weird !

This is getting truly surreal now. MIKE MYERS?!!!
Im telling you guys, this is gonna be a comedy satire like Dr Strangelove set during WWII. QT is gonna moon everyone expecting some violent men on a mission flick.
[/quote]
This is gonna be HUGE !! Now I’m all excited again about Mike Myers, no Sandler, Myers, Brad Pitt, I don’t even want to remember Eli Roth and all those other ones.
Myers, go on, mate !! Plus a comedy satire like Kubrick sounds like the idea I have too with all those actors casted. Great.
Hitler may end up being portrayed like Dr Evil.

Aahaha !! That'd be the best, if again it's in a Dr Strangelove style. Would be so perfect. Mouhahahaha :P
Christopher Walken is going to be in this. I can feel it…
shit im a kubrick fan but i havent seen dr stangelove yet.
can someone enlighten me, why are u guys all comparing it to IB ?

First, you GOTTA see it as a Kubrick fan. Then you’ll understand it’s satire war movie. Peter Sellers as an alter ego of Mike Myers aka Dr Evil, plus IB cast counts now two comedy actors (Myers and Pegg). I haven’t read the script, can’t tell you if the comparaison is right but it sounds like that for now.
Jettah: Its like a big comedy satire on war. All these government guys acting like buffoons. Peter Sellers…and speaking of him I know Mike Myers is a huge Peter Sellers fan. He may be playing a role like that in the film.
I think it will probably end up being more like the Great Dictator rather than Dr. Strangelove. Strangelove was subtle and there is nothing subtle about Tarantino’s work. Whatever humor is in the movie is going to be much more slapstick and obvious than anything in Strangelove.
Good point. You may be right. It might be more explicit and not just subtle humor. Or it could be a mix too. Whatever it is, it sounds like its gonna be pretty funny.
Well we know for sure know that it is also going to be a comedy to a large extent. With Pegg on board, it could still have been serious (for QT standards) but now with Myers, NO CHANCHE.
Not at all what I expected. Tarantino has never disappointed me. But I have always had a strange feeling when I heard the man talk in his interviews that he maybe has a bad movie in him. I just hope it’s not this one.
Yeah Baby!!! I am a Shagadelic Fat inglorious Bastard!
This is getting crazier by the second! I love it! Let the master of postmodern pastiche mix everything up in one brilliant movie (or 2, or 2 parts or…well you get the point).
Who next? Rob Schneider?
Kenneth: But why does comedy mean bad movie? You have to see the film before you decide on whether its bad or good. Just give it a chance first. I mean you were saying you dont care if its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Ghostbusters or Kill Bill. You should treat this the same way.
There is a chance it might not be a flat out comedy too. It might have comedy in it, but still be a violent war flick. Just because Myers is in it, doesnt mean hes gonna fart and act like a goof. He may play a semi serious part.
But then again what if Myers plays Hitler? Damn that would be pretty funny.
Not to sound like a total bitch, but I have always seen QT’s movies as works that are full of comedy. Not one movie of QT takes itself serious. I don’t think a QT movie will ever be a comedy from the starting point, but it will certainly have that flirting edge, where it can blow off some steam from some or most of the violence in it. I think this is the main reason that we can stomache his movies
Seth: They def are. Thats why theyre so fun, he mixes comedy with violence alot like one of his big influences: Fernando DiLeo. He was great at doing that too.

i liked rob schneider
Let QT cast whoever is right. If Schneider gets a part Im not gonna complain.

You’re right it can still kick ass as a comedy, if it becomes one. But I thought that it was a tough Guys on a mission violent crazy powerhouse of a movie influenced heavily by italian and american war movies with real men. ha.
if it becomes that, with some comecid overtones, that would probably kick ass. hm…
