I say “half-ass” because most true stories-turned movies are exactly that. Things that never happened can never be disputed or fucked up, but true stories are full of errors and falsehoods. It’s the nature of the true story beast. No doubt that DePalma will do a great job, but the great part about Scarface was that it could of happened because it never happened. The bad part about The Untouchables was that there were numerous historical errors - Frank Nitti being killed was the first to come to mind - Frank Nitti actually ran Capone’s business for several years after Capone was put in jail. I’m just being practical - true stories never work in Hollywood.
