Tarantino reacts to Die Hard 4's PG-13 rating
america should adopt our (australia’s) MA15+ rating which doesnt allow people under 15 to watch them most violent films here get slapped with this or if its slightly tamer then an M15+ which is just recommended for people over 15 (under 15’s can still see it) the first 3 die hards all were M15+ rated
they should just let anyone into R rated films get rid of pg-13.

Fuck Rambo in his arse.

Have you already done that or was that more of a fantasy-type situation?

the only thing that could make this movie cool would be another flowers on the wall referance to pulp fiction.

why the fuck did they make a sequel in the first place. hollywood is such a brainless dump…

A PG-13 Die Hard movie?! that’s just scandalous

here in denmark by the way ratings don’t mean shit! the highest rating is ‘15’, and i’ve been watching and buying those movies since i was 10

I think the rating system should be completely abolished unless the movie is a porno. There are two reasons why I think this:

(1) Gratuitous sex scenes irritate me almost as much as montages or unnecessary slow motion. I like to know in advance… scratch that, I NEED to know in advance if there is going to be a sex scene because I had the unfortunate experience of seeing William H. Macy buck naked when I rented The Cooler. It was horrible. It made me want to gouge my eyeballs out. I’m not a prude. There are just certain people I don’t want to see naked.

(2) Parents need to monitor what movies their kids watch not the film industry. Rating systems are pointless. This is because some kids are emotionally mature enough at a young age to watch films that are full of violence and cursing and understand it’s just a movie. While other kids have nightmares. Only the parents know what their children can handle. Why should the rest of us suffer?!

i think ratings should be gone too and just warn people about what is in the movie.

How about a label reding this: “Warning! The main character of this film dies in the end”

just let me know how much free time you have once you have kids. You are commiting the cardinal sin - the same one I used to commit - before I had kids I criticized parents for this kind of shit and I’d say “when I have kids I’ll…” You ain’t gonna do shit! Trust me. In a few years I won’t know what the fuck is playing in the theater or what it’s about or who’s naked or who uses the words that I know and love so much - so I’ll have the rating system to help me decide…it’s a good thing.

not if it fucks up Die Hard

the first die hard was the best one and bruce willis said that he only wanted to do this one if it was as good or better than the first one. He also said that the only really good one was the first one. With the PG-13 rating, im not expecting much. It means no blood, no swearing, no John Mclain. I agree with my man QT on this one.

I hate films that cuss for the sake of it. It ruins it when a writer is unable to think of anything more creative than fuck fuck fuck. That doesn’t mean I hate cussing. It just needs to be written by a good writer. It can be the poetry of the street, but it can also be a crutch.

However, in Die Hard’s case, you can’t set up a character this way and then completely change it by taking away the swearing that became a part of John McClane’s character.

I heard something about the film being shot in an R version and a PG-13 version… du you think that’s plausible??

maybe some countries get the good version and some get the PG-13? and everyone get’s a decent dvd in the end
