Dead or Alive rules! Don’t listen to anything he says about it! NO! DON’T!
Starkey, don’t listen to Bullet. He’s on drugs right now
But Bullet, I seriously don’t think Starkey is gonna like Dead or Alive, he didn’t dig the suddeness of Vampires in From Dusk Till Dawn.
Starkey you’ll like DOA don’t worry you will.
I liked Evil Dead. And am addicted to Miike so I KNOW I’ll like Dead or Alive. The other two I’ve got to see from him are Fudoh and Visitor Q. And maybe a little City of lost Souls while I’m at it.
Fudoh is my second favorite from Miike, it’s so in your face with crazyness it’s great!
Dead or Alive is my third! (TAKE THAT KENTUCKY!)
I love Takeshi Miike. Hes very artistic.
Ichi the Killer Unrated Region 1 DVD
Dead or Alive Unrated Director’s Cut Region 1 DVD
So. Are they worth the extra bucks? I’m intrigued by both films, as well as Audition (which will be slightly easier to get my hands on, as I’ve seen it in a local video store).
Yes they are worth it, they are worth every penny. But for Dead or Alive I would get the first and second because they are just two amazing movies. But go for it, watch out though, Audition has alotta R-Rated cuts that cuts from the last ten minutes or so…
I also highly recommend Versus, an action, horror, comedy that just never stops with madness, there is Shootouts, Swordplay, gory zombie deaths and Evil Dead style comedy. Try that one out also!
Yeah, I checked that one out, too. The cover alone makes me want to see it.
I love mixed-media weaponry. Guns and swords, yay!
Actually not alot of people have actually seen Versus, I think it is quite overlooked in my opinion, I like Versus more then Ichi The Killer, Versus just kicks too much ass.
how much difference is there in edited version of versus-it worth renting at all?
The cut version of Versus is basically nothing, it’s worse then Ichi when it’s cut, don’t rent it cut.
well that sux. thats another asian movie im not gonna rent cuz its edited >:(
yo bullet, did u ever see this-it got deleted earlier today from that stupid thread

Uhhhh she looks a bit young in that picture? She looks like she’s 14 or 15, yuck.
In the local dvd shop I saw the uncut version from Ichi the Killer. Should I buy it? And I know you are all gonna say:Hell yeah. But I have know reason to buy it.
First of all, you need an open mind to see Ichi The Killer, I explained on the other page of this topic on how I love this movie so I’m not gonna repeat myself again just read the other page over then go see it.

I know you think its good, but on a Dutch movie forum they think that Ichi is an overrated movie.

Then let them think that, I think Ichi is great, but I actually like Versus better. Make up your own mind when you see it.

Well, ign.com supposedly called it a film without merit. A sadistic piece of cinema made for sickos who get off on gore films. It’s amazing how close minded some so-called movie critics can be. Ichi is about violence, but it’s a film more concerned with control and domination through violence. It’s not as clear cut as a lot of these knee-jerk reactionaries would have you believe. Not everyone who dislikes it feels that way solely on the violence, but you would be shocked how many people are like that out there. If you can handle some blood in your cinema, and perhaps some brutality, then maybe you’ll dig Ichi. It’s a film with a lot on it’s mind and a brilliant director.
Versus does indeed rule, although I don’t think I would count it higher than Ichi. It is most definitely the biggest and best party movie ever made. If anyone likes that one, search out Wild Zero, it’s pretty wild as well. Aliens and Rock & Roll make for an amazing cinematic mix.
The Violence in “Ichi the Killer” isn’t to make you say, “HOLY SHIT THAT’S GROCE…NO WONDER EVERYONE LIKED THIS MOVIE…IT’S SO DAMN NASY, OF COURSE IT’S COOL”. narrow minded people ether like it becaues of the violence or don’t like it because it’s “To offencive”. The violence in ichi is part of it’s artistic value. It’s part of making you feal for the characters…especially the character of the father. Sure this movie pushes boundries, but not just so you like the violence. There really was a huge between the lines value to this movie and really isn’t sadistic at all. It’s hard to understand unless you’ve given the movie a chance, but it really does have a lot of great vision in it.
