Let me guess: Blacks (see the left side of the second cap) and dark scenes don’t look as good as they should on Toei. So, BCI has decided to darken the image to hide the problems and hope no one notices. HK Video did contrast boosting, which gives good resuls with night scenes but it’s fucks up everything else.

HK Video looks washed-out because of the brightness and contrast boosting. BCI is dark, has reddish skintones, and is also interlaced (not visible in these caps).
Okay, lets get real. All three transfers are a thousand times better than the old US dvds. All three transfers have their problems, but Toei wins because it’s the least manipulated of the three and has the best color and brightness.
