I checked my Karate for Life dvd, and other than some serious ghosting I can’t see any other problems. The dvd is worth buying because there are no alternatives, but the ghosting is rather distracting at times.
I watched HK Video’s Sister Street Fighter and the film was every bit as good as I remembered. I don’t know the exact differences compared to the American version, but the US cut is probably missing some blood spurts, close ups and etsuko ripping a man’s guts out 
As for the dvd, the image quality is very good, but judging by the screencaps I’ve seen, it’s slightly inferior compared to Toei. HK Video seems slighly grainier, brighter and streched, but it is still a great transfer. Toei does look better, but if you already own this french box set, then there’s no reason to get the R2J.
