yous where saying invincible super guy could not be a shaw brothers film and the title Chinese Super Ninjas is not any better.
Dragon Dynasty have released 4 Shaw brorthers titles (The 36th Chamber of Shaolin,One armed Swordsman,King Boxer and My Auntie) I think they are also planning to release more!
Media Blasters is going to release some Shaw titles in the near future. Linn at dvdmaniacs assures they’ve done their best to fix all the flaws of the other Shaw dvds (soundtrack and language issues, transfer issues…)
media blaster release some great dvds they own shriek show if i recall correctly.
Hung, can you find any reviews of Atlantic films shaw dvds?

Scandi dvds? We’ve got different distributors in each country. But yeah, some. They’re all sourced from the Dutch dvds, so you need to find reviews of those. Use: http://www.dvd-basen.dk/uk/home.php3?soeg=all&mvis=ok
There’s a Dutch review site with caps that has reviewed many of the shaws. Don’t rely on their ratings, click on the pics and judge yourself. For example Shaolin Temple is an awful hazy mess, while some other are perfectly fine. All should come with the original soundtracks.
It also looks like the lates batch (not yet released in finland) will be the last as there’s no more Dutch dvds left

[quote=“Linn at bullets n babes”]since it popped up on another site, I can now confirm the first ten releases from Media Blasters are…
Five Elements Ninjas AKA Super Ninjas!
Heroes Two
The Master
Challenge of the Masters
Martial Club
The Deadly Duo
The Brave Archer
The Ten Tigers of Kwangtung
Black Magic 2
Flag of Iron
Expect more info on extras and the like at the upcoming Phillyfest in August where some more announcements will be made. And I will be hanging out for the fest, so if you have a chance, come by and talk.

i have fist of the white lotus and 8 diagram pole fighter by red sun and the picture and sound are both excellent. Does anybody else have any shaw dvds from red sun, if so which ones do you have and how are there quality.
Don’t buy Red Sun dvds. Those are bootlegs that prevent official dvds from being released. Their new Shaw dvds are rips of the Hong Kong IVL dvds, meaning the picture is interlaced, converted from PAL to NTSC, and most soundtracks are remixed with new sound effects added.
Companies like Dragon Dynasty are releasing proper, remastered and progressive NTSC transfers with original soundtracks, but they’ll never even bother picking up the distribution rights if everybody have already bought “illeagal” bootlegs of those films.
yeah i know there bootlegs of the ivl dvds and im planning on getting whatever shaw brother releases dragon dynasty has. i was just curious cause i know im gonna want some shaw brother films that wont be released by dragon dynasty. Is there any remastered shaw brother films on region 1 with dubs that arnt bootlegs. (only kung fu)

Appart from the DD and the upcoming Media Blaster dvds (not sure if eng audio will be included.) no. And there won’t be as long as people keep buying bootlegs.
I have a few Red Sun bootleg DVDs. As much as I like the old print versions, I’d much rather watch the remastered Celestial DVDs or the new Dragon Dynasty releases. They are great.
which red sun dvd’s do you got? hows the quality. I cant wait to get five fingers of death and 36th chamber of shaolin from dragon dynasty for the commentary from quentin (five fingers of death) and the RZA (36th chamber of shaolin)
Red Suns I have: Seven Blows of The Dragon, Seven Soldiers of Kung Fu, Snake in The Monkeys Shadow, The Stranger and the Gunfighter.
Note: QT is only on the King Boxer (FFOD) DVD. I wish he was on the other ones too.
IVL is no longer releasing, and far as I know, printing Shaw Brothers dvds. Many recent releases have gone out of print real quick, so I suggest you hurry up with your orders. Their dvds are all PAL → NTSC conversions, but the the new ones (the last few year) have the original mono.
Of course Dragon Dynasty, Media Blasters and BCI are producing better quality dvds, but if you think they are going to release all 700 SB films from IVL’s catalogue you are very wrong. Btw, nobody knows if IVL really did release all the dvds they were supposed to. I don’t think they put out 700 dvds, but there was hundereds. If I had to guess I’d say the released at least 500 titles.
