Yeah, this topic is gay.

I see it as a kind of poll. My favorite screenplay is Bladerunner. I recommend reading it. Just going to a script place isn’t going to tell you what Weaselco’s favorite screenplay is.

If you think about it saying this topic is lame is calling all topics lame. It would be like saying the Track Your Films is useless because people can go online and read critics reviews. The Beautiful people thread is dumb because you can get free porn online. The directors pages are worthless since you can go to IMDB. Etc, etc…

So no, i wouldn’t call this topic lame. And giving the links just makes it easier for everyone else to read them.

To this day, I believe “Adaptation” by Charlie Kaufman is the best script written within the last 25 years.

Some other notables:

The Sixth Sense

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind (too bad the movie blew, ruined one of the best scripts ever written)

American Beauty

The Matrix

it’s a short because the movie is 80% visual (wich is great) its my favorite lucas film after star wars (IV)

oh yeah and my favorite script is Lawrence of Arabia, it’s the best aswell, hasent been topped in any way, simply the best, better than all the rest

i bought it for €5 about 2 years ago, second handed, just reading it makes me hyped, to me the most important thing about a screenplay is descriptions, how the actions are descriped, couldnt care less about “funny” or "witty’ lines, everyone can come up with those, they dont move me at all, youre a good screenwriter if youve got a sense of visuals (fact), if you can see the film while writing, after all, cinema is visuality, if you wanna write funny lines, write a book, funny lines dont make a film, you wanna write a good film, make the film in your mind and simply write it down, pure genius

I don’t think so. The fact that it didn’t win the oscar for best screenplay is a travesty.

The Academy realized that and give Charlie a “sorry we fucked up” oscar and gave it to him for Eternal Sunshine.

Batman- http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/batman_early.html

this is an unproduced Batman script that almost got made. Its bad cuz its a great script, better then Batman Begins(I did like Batman Begins). Quentin Trantino has said that it is one of his favorite scripts(or something along those lines).

I wouldn’t call this my favorite screenplay and I haven’t even read all of it yet but I think it’s the first script I’ve ever read that written in first person. I figured I’d put it out there just for it’s uniqueness.
