And for the record I do like a few Hitch films alot (North by NW, Psycho, Rear Window, Frenzy, The Birds, Marnie, Vertigo) and I also really like THX-1138, American Graffiti and Star Wars (1977) by Lucas.
BUT my personal favorite director is Brian DePalma. I have been a fan of his since I first saw Scarface in 1984 (on VHS) when I was 10. I also saw The Untouchables in the theater when I was 13 in 1987 and I just loved it. Ever since I’ve loved DePalma movies. For me, DePalma was my Tarantino before Tarantino was around. I also have always been more attracted/interested in DePalma’s work over Hitch’s. It may have something to do with his personal style or the fact I grew up in the 1980s when his movies made more of an impression on me than Hitch’s really did. Either way, I remain a DePalma fan first, a Hitch fan second.
