look, what was hold as violent 20 years ago…(lol I wasnt there 20 years ago)

this can be discussed… though less graphic the original texas chainsaw massacre is much more violent than the recent remake. generally speaking, mainstream films from the 70s were much more violent that what it is done today. Hostel is a child movie compared to Taxi Driver which is still a fucking intense film…

yea i agree with you 100% i cant stand when people are like yea back then they dident have this voilance i always go nuts. they did!
Yeah i believe in the 60’s there was no ratings board so it was a “anything goes” kind of thing. I mean think about back in the 80’s when scarface came out they gave it an x rating and now for some people the violence is nothing.

there were this interview with Brian DePalma that cracked me up where he basically said: “if I was to make Carrie now, the producers would force me to put blue paint instead of pig blood at the end. back then when they suggested things like this i just sent them to fuck off!”

Yeah in the 70s they could do alot more thats the reason why I enjoy movies from the 70s/80s more then the movies they make today.

Gotta love Brian De Palma.
I’d say about 3/4th of the movies that come today suck big hairy balls. It’s a shame.
In the Kid stays in the picture, Robert Evans even says that after he saw the first cut he asked Coppola to make the film longer… don’t know if it is true (producers are all lyers and always take credits for others ideas ) but still cool story
