Haha, yeah because viewaskew would be the most objective source to issue such a statement right?

Well not necessarily but why would they lie? Smith and QT are after all good friends too and he apparently liked Clerks 2 very much too so it’s possible.
I just find it hard to believe that QT prefers Chasing Amy over films like L.A. Confidential, Face/Off, Boogie Nights, Copland and The Ice Storm. Sometimes I feel people suck on Kevin Smith’s dick a little bit too much.
Well, I’m with you in thinking it isn’t the best movie of 1997 but one of the best certainly. L.A. Confidential is better and Jackie Brown of course, Hana-bi too, maybe The Full Monty…
But I really can’t believe he would prefer Domino (fucking Domino?!?!?) to such great 2005 movies as Brokeback Mountain, A History of Violence, Corpse Bride or Murderball.

So how much cock sucking can we do before its too much?
QT can sometimes pick strange movies as his favorites. I wonder if he does it just to get people to watch movies he likes they other wise may have passed on.
I always have a tough time picking one favorite movie but for 1997 i would say:
- Boogie Nights
- Jackie Brown
- The Cube
- Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion (just kidding)
- Gross Point Blank
I’ve just read, that QT named THE HILLS HAVE EYES his favorite film of the year so far. Source: Premiere Magazine. Anyone here who has it and can tell if he named other movies?
Really.

Walk the Line(wonder what he thought of this, best oscar-type film I’ve seen from 05)[/quote]
When Teletext (or is it Ceefax) interviewed Quentin they asked him that since he is an avid viewer of films of different kinds (not just exploitation) were there any kind of films that he is not all that keen on. He replied that he wasn’t keen on biopics. In ‘Uncut’ he said that he was excited about ‘Hostel’ being released because he felt that there was something respectable and important (in a pompous way) about the recent films coming out of Hollywood. He didn’t name names but prior to ‘Hostel’ the most talked about films were ‘Syriana’, ‘Good Night and Good Luck’, ‘Walk The Line’, ‘Jarhead’, ‘Brokeback Mountain’ and ‘Capote’. Films that your parents would admire or at least somebody’s. Flicking through that ‘Kill Bill’ analysis book I came across an interview with Quentin at the back where he said he did not care much for the film ‘Road To Perdition’ as it was arty. He does like ‘Raging Bull’ which is a biopic so perhaps there are exceptions. In short Quentin Tarantino and his taste in cinema reminds us that despite the lofty aspirations it has towards art with directors like Robert Bresson, Carl Dreyer, Orson Welles and the like cinema has its roots in working class looked-down-upon populist culture (a bit like William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens). Don’t forget the early forms of cinema were as fairground side-shows and the roots of cinema were in cave-paintings, zoetropes, shadow theatre and magic lanterns amongst many other things and not in the (assumed) high culture of theatre, opera and ballet.
I actually walked out of the theatre on The Hills have eyes. And dont really ever want to see Devils Rejects. I also thought Hustle and Flow wasn’t that good and is very overrated.
Its not blood that gets me, that is not why I dont like The Hills have eyes or any of that stuff. It’s just I dont like seeing really evil things if I dont have to. I mean I could have stayed and watch the hills have eyes but I did not want to support it nor did I care to see how it ended.
Personally, as Ive gotten older I find that all the boring, avant garde, arthouse type stuff isnt what I enjoy most. Theres always exceptions, but Ive been there and done that. Overall, I’m much more into good old fashioned, well told, straight forward entertainment movies.

Support it??? I watched the hills have eyes…but that doesn’t mean i support “evilness” :.
The devils rejects is a peice of art if you get a chance to watch it. It’s a film i don’t get bored of watching ever.
Actually I dont mean supporting evil I mean supporting the people who made it lol ;D
