QT doing JAMES BOND "Casino Royale"?

Nice !!!

Would you want him to do a spaghetti western??
Would you want him to do a spaghetti western??
Yeah, it would be cool to see a QT style western. Although he puts many spaghetti western style elements into his movies already. I dont know what he’d do to make it a different kind of film than most Westerns.

Sure! I know if QT was to do a musical it would be something really crazy. He said he loves Little Shop of Horrors, so maybe it would be that type of thing. I saw that when I was a kid, it was fun.

Guys and Dolls with a Tommy Gun finale?

spaghetti western means a western made in italy. do you really think miramax would go to italy to make a movie? i dont think so.

besides, QT owns the rights to Leonard’s western novel 40 Lashes Less One and there have been rumors about a script for ages. i read the book and it would be perfect

Qt loves The Little Shop of Horror? Don´t know that. That´s cool, I love this movie - "Feed me!"

as much as people hate the new bonds… EXACTLY that’s why QT should do one. Because he would change the franchise back to old-school spy stuff. that would be awesome

Lets face it. The only thing that would save the Bond franchise would be if the Soviet Union were to rise again…and I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Spy movies suck now because there is no one left in the world worth spying on.

Like everyone else is saying, this obviously will never happen.

You, I, and everyone else thinks the current Bond movies stink…but the problem is that each one has had a bigger box office than the last. None have grossed less than $100 mil and the most recent one was over $160 mil.

These aren’t HUGE numbers (particularly in light of the budgets), but MGM is so inept that their bi-annual Bond flick seems to be the only time they have any kind of a hit at all. Pathetic as it is, it’s their one and only tentpole…and there’s no way in hell they’re going to do anything other than big-budget summer blockbusters with the franchise. Asking MGM to do something smart and/or low-budget with it is like asking Walt Disney to make a porno with Mickey Mouse.

That said, QT obviously has a lot of affection for '60s spy stuff and think this would be extremely cool. It would be great if he and Brosnan could do like a “bootleg” Bond movie like Never Say Never Again…but that’s wishful thinking too.

Maybe the best thing for QT to do in this genre would be Modesty Blaise…or maybe ressurect the “Flint” franchise…or something more obscure…or create his own brand.

Maybe a Bond parody with Bruce Campbell just to flick them the bird?

Bruce Campbell would make the perfect Bond, though a QT horror film would be equally fun

Quentin Tarantino petition for James Bond.

http://www.petitiononline.com/bond0408/petition.html

I’ve signed the pertition! But i aint sure bout Pierce Brosnan starring in it as he maybe too old!! I heard rumours a few weeks ago of Orlando Bloom and Jude law being considered to play the next Bond.

i aint been able to sit through a single pierce brosnan bond movie, they suck.

but i dont see the problem of qt adapting / directing it, i mean ‘license to kill’ was pretty hardcore, felix getting (half) fed to the sharks was class! so i dont see why people would worry bout qt taking control (unless license to kill did bad in box office, i dunno if it did but thats the only bond movie i still like). and didnt he do uncredited writing for the rock and crimson tide? big block buster movies

its real cool how qts been going to all the press about it himself coz now its creating some hype so its a lot of pressure on the producers, this must be why brosnan said hed want to do another bond movie the other week even though he had been reluctant before.

its a bit like kevin smith and his ‘fletch’ project he bought the rights but miramax wont fund it with jason lee as fletch, they want a big star like brad pitt coz its gonna be a big franchise. that sucks

I surpose they’re unsure about having QT doing a 007 film cause of the sterotypes of his films being too violent and I surpose the newer Bond films have to appeal to younger audiences to get money.
unless license to kill did bad in box office
It crashed and burned. They put the series on the shelf for 6 years as a result of it.

Bond movies were making upwards of $60 mil in the early '80s, slipping to $50 mil in the mid '80s, then “License” fell off to $30 mil…with a much higher budget.

I don’t know if this was a direct result of the “License” in particular…or whether the audience was just sick of the character after bi-annual installments for 30 years. The general mood in the media at the time seemed to be that Bond was an old, sexist dinosaur that need to be put down.

Regardless, “License to Kill” is not exactly the model anyone’s going to be pointing to when pitching a QT Bond.

Orlando Bloom?!?! Hahaha, that would be the stupidest thing ever. Jude Law would be ok, but I'd prefer Brosnan if QT sets to direct it. However, I heard rumors that Bronson's neighbor (who goes by the name of Michael Madsen) stated that Brosnan confessed to him he's done with Bond. That would mean QT's chances to direct Casino Royale would be nullified even more, since Brosnan was the main supporter of hiring QT for the job.

Good. Maybe this will be the end of the Bond rumor stuff then.

I hope QT keeps doing his own stuff and not any remakes or book adaptations. It would be cool to see him do one of his own smaller subgenre films next before he rolls in Inglorious Bastards.

CinemaEye.com is for sale | HugeDomains

There was also a pretty big 2-page article on it in a major UK newspaper (Daily Express). I think it would be cool… up to the producers I guess.
