Has anybody seen this yet? It looks like one of the Grind House knock off trailers you see in the movie making forum just with a slightly bigger budget.

I had a lot of excitement for this movie, but it’s all gone now.

Wow, sorry Dex, but I’m just the opposite. I really didn’t have much faith in this project - but after watching that trailer I’m actually kind of excited ;D I don’t think those scratches and such will be in the final version of the film, I looked up another trailer and it looked clean so I think that was just for the trailer (would be stupid otherwise I agree, waaay too Grindhouse). I didn’t realize it was going to be so violent, and I think this could finally be a good adaptation of a character that seems so easy to “get”, but no one has.

this is gonna be shit, the tom jane one almost had the right idea with a bigger budget and slightly more experienced director that would have awesome, this on the other hand just looks like they pushed the boundries way too far…

#5

Yeah, I think the Incredible Hulk reboot suffered a similar problem. They were trying too hard to get away from the dramatic elements of the first one that they just went way too far in the opposite direction.

Apparently director Lexi Alexander is off the project now and Lion’s Gate is pushing for a PG-13 rating. I’m not really sure if that’s a bad thing or not. It seems pretty obvious that the movie is gonna suck but at least with a PG-13 rating it could have a shot of making a decent theatrical run. I mean I’m not planning on seeing it until it hits DVD anyway and by then it’ll most likely have an “unrated” edition.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was thinking. It looks like Lexy was going for a pretty violent film.

Wouldnt be any other way to do a punisher movie lol

Guess it was bullshit. Lexi’s still on the film and it’s still rated R.

So anyone besides myself actually can’t wait to see this movie? Seems like it’s going to be a really good, sit back and watch a$$ getting kicked movie. I love the chair through that dude’s eye. From the redband trailer, looks like Rambo (the latest one) don’t have sh*t on this movie.

#13

So anyone see this? It’s so cheesy and campy, and has a B-movie feel, but that made it awesome. Ray Stevenson is awesome. Good ol’ B-movie that made it’s way in theaters.

#14

Haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve never really enjoyed the whole “I’m so bad ‘on purpose’ it makes me good” approach to film making.

the first punisher was at some points really cool. why they are making this now? they want to put punisher in the same universe (in order to appear in tha avengers movie in the future?)
