Yea, hamsters are solitary and have been none to kill one another if kept together. Rats on the other hand sleep in big piles, groom each other and play fight.
I had to look after my friends Hamster, Boris, and he used to escape out of his cage and hide INSIDE my couch. Everyday he was there I’d have to flip over the couch and he’d come out and wait for me to pick him up. It was weird. Hamsters are SUPER cute, but I’ve never had great experiences with them. I had one as a little girl and it just bit me alot.
Sunshine just likes to give me a lot of ratty kisses! He’s so affection in his old age.

Yeah, my first hamster was really solitary but super cute. It was a russian hamster so it was wilder and less friendly. Though when he died, we bought two other hamster, not russian that time and they were supposed to be more friendly and they kept biting us. We first let them in the same cage, wrong idea cause one of the two (my bro’s) bit the other like hell, lots of blood and all. So we have to separate them both. But they kept escaping their cage and my bro’s hamster kept going on my hamster’s cage to bit him again and again. Mine died from the different bitting games (it was really a victim and way too weak to survive, it was all bitten from everywhere) and the other one escaped one last time and we never found him again. He must have died alone somewhere in the cellar, cause that’s where we had the cage when it escaped.
