It should be region 0 disc.

I ordered my copy from www.buyoyo.com (formerly layoyo, dvdshelf before that). It only cost 2€ + shipping. Yesasia is a bit more expensive, but their price isn’t too bad either (5,99$US).

both region 0?

If so i might buy it…

Currently there are two dvds available, both mainland China releases from the same company. Both should be good quality, and include english subtitles.

  1. 120 min version
  2. 156 min version

    120 min cut

    156 min cut

one of them is surround sound, one isnt.

wow, looks like some epic stuff, hope its screening worldwide

do you know the original chinese title? because i cant find anything about it

here’s the link if you is still interested.

It’s only $6.

Do not buy the dvd yet. It’s possibe there’s a similiar kind of “logo” problem that was is some other mainland china dvds (Like 2046 and Hero). I’ll let you know more when I get the dvd.

#7

lol thanks for that, I was actually going to buy it today or tomorrow.

#8

Okay, everything that could possibly go wrong with this dvd release, did go wrong.

  1. There is only one cut of this film (currently). Yesasia and several other stores incorrectly state that there are two different versions. The so called extended cut (which was supposed to run 156 min) is actually the normal 112 minute version. Somebody fucked up with the running times.
  2. There is no DTS track, even though the dvd cover has DTS logo on it.
  3. There is a dvd distributor logo appearing on the image every 20 minutes. It’s not as disturbing as it sounds, but it’s still annoying.

#9

Damn. Are there any plans for another or improved dvd?

I’m sure HK dvd will come out sooner or later. Probably early next year. Only problem is that the film itself isn’t so great…

#11

Oh well. That sucks. It looked quite good aswell.

Bit of a dissapointment eh?

#12

yeah. I posted more specific comments on the other Tai Hang thread (in case you missed it)
