No real video footage leaked out last time during the fest so there was never really any issues that happened. QT4 or QT5 I can’t remember but someone did get thrown out for videotaping. I think they will be more scanning the audience initially to see who is videotaping… but even still that has to be tough because so many digital camera’s and cel phone cams all have similar looking models that do in fact do videotaping. If it becomes an issue, ie - someone posting footage online during the fest then you can be rest assured they will then screen people as they walk in and ban cel phones outright with any type of view finder.
Personally I respect their decision as it’s their event but I would love for them to allow any videotaping (with the condition that anyone that put it online put a link back to the AFS site). Nothing better than viral marketing of people posting video footage on YouTube, etc. Definitely would get the word out about AFS and build up even more hype for people to attend a QT Fest. I think the video clips would prompt more people to want to attend versus the opposite.
