I’m just showing my appreciation for Asian films like Tarantino. Of course, unlike Tarantino, I’m not taking credit for them.
If I’m not mistaken, a 2 second teaser on TV wants to air ‘Hero’ on Chinese New Year (Jan 20 onwards). 
It will have loads of commercials though, if that’s any consolation to you.

I’m new to the board.
I just wanted to pop in here and express my disappointment on learning that the KILL BILL Volume 2 release date is being pushed back until April.
But after reading through the comments in this thread, I’m not sure if I’m going to be coming back here much.
The level of discourse is very disappointing.
For instance, I disagree with many of Matrixfan’s points but I defend his right to express them without being verbally attacked and insulted for having an unpopular position.
I think the moderator should take measures to trim down the number of verbal attacks being thrown around in here.
I’m totally against the idea of censoring peoples’ opinions but telling someone to fuck off and leave the board because they have an opinion that is unpopular is appalling to me. That is a form of censorship. A very aggressive and reactionary form.
Anyway, I’m a massive Tarantino fan. And yes, sometimes he says some inconsiderate remarks but at least he’s much more honest than your average Hollywood personality who’d be terrified to speak their minds for fear of the inevitable backlash.
I totally respect Tarantino for never been afraid to speak his mind.
I also respect him tremendously as an artist. Yes, he blatently steals from other films and genres but that’s part of his particular and unique style. It’s the way he pieces the films together where the true genius of his artistry lies.
He’s an absolute master of manipulating audience expectations and narrative conventions. I should really write about this in much more detail and perhaps at a further date I will.
But in the meantime, this is a great site and potentially a great forum for Tarantino fans (and even non fans) to share thoughts and feeling about his films and other films of interest but can we please practise a little mutual respect?
You have to understand that I own this website and I am putting lots of work, time and money into this and I want to make sure, that the quality remains. if the amount of bullshit topics/posts increases and there are arguments and insults, then I am forced to interfere in order to keep this (MY!) place in order.
If that means censoring insults (which are against board rules), then I do that. If that means kicking members who apparently are causing unneccesary trouble and work, then I do that.
If you sign up in this forum, it’s like entering someone else’s house. You are a guest. And you have to respect the house rules. if you don’t respect the rules of your host, you get thrown out the door. that’s the way it is

Sometimes things are not as they appaer… See many of the posts and topics of the Matrix discussion are deleted and maybe you have the feeling that some regular member acted to rough. Well you can´t see, what happened here… I for myself try to keep myself out of the discussion (after talking with MrBill), but sometimes it is not that easy. When i read that someone insult people I apriciate, I sometimes wanna say not very nice things.
You can´t see, how this all started.
Seb, the admin use so much time to make this Forum to what it is and he made a good, a great job.
Keep in mind, that he is from Germany, so that he regulary has not the same time to join his board like many members.
Every time he comes to his board, he has to read “millions” of posts. And he made it right…
I hope, that you will have as much fun as I (me? shit my english is so bad…) on this board.

And you’re right, I’m not aware of the history behind this ongoing battle between the Matrix fans and the OT fans. (But how ridiculous it is that they should feel they belong to different camps.)
When these discussions erupt into flame wars and verbal insults, it really damages the integrity of the board. The best thing we can do is to practise restraint and diplomacy and if someone lodges an unwarranted verbal attack against another user that should really be removed, perhaps we can make our moderator’s life easier by sending him a link to that specific post.
I’m not a fan of censorship and I firmly believe in tolerating unpopular views but verbal abuse should not be accepted at all and every instance of it should be removed, with the offender given an immediate and final warning before being banned from the board.

I watched Hero last weke in theatres here, and damn what a beautifull movie it is. All the colors that were uesed , it war really like :o. Beautifull.
Was it better than Crouching Tiger? Jet Li and Donnie Yen are both in it, so it’s bound to kick ass. 
BTW, rumour has it Hero could come out as late as June or August now.

I got the region 0 and loved it aswell, it was worht the 15 minutes it took me to figure out what subtitles, english, and play movie are in chinese (menu options were in chinese only).
It wasn’t very bloody at all actually, what’s your favourite swordplay scene?
my favourite sword is the one where the servent and falling snow (I think is her name) are fighting in the forest of red tree’s, and there both wearing red robes…

Yep. It is official. Tarantino has convinced Miramax to finally re-release Hero in its unedited version. It will be in theaters around New York and LA this June.
lets just hope he does that for Shaolin Soccer, too.

and I would give it a 9 and a half out of 10
originally it was only a 8 and a half but I watched it again last night and loved it so much more the second time.
