I did know that The Passion meant that, and I sortof agree with you on the entertainment value. The primary goal of this movie isn’t to be entertaining, it is to show Christ’s suffering and the heavy burden he carried for all of us. But the aspects such as music and visual style are there to keep us in the theater, and to hold our attention. Even a movie like Schindler’s List is supposed to have some entertainment value, if only to hold the viewer’s attention. And the point of this movie isn’t so much as to make us feel guilty about Christ dying for our sins, but to give us hope and show that if Christ could do that much for us, we should be tough and able to keep faith with whatever comes our way.
