Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" trailer

I’m looking forward to Shutter Island. He’s like Tarantino in the sense that you may not love or even like every movie he does but everything he does is worth watching at least once…

thats the best description yet

i fear the difference with this film and scorseses only previous misfire (bringing out the dead) is that it seems pander to crappy mainstream sensabilities - as i said before i hope im wrong…

but if he made something arty and fucked up - took a complete riske to make it and ended up making a piece of crap he would have at least taken the risk.

Why does everybody hate Bringing out the Dead ? I really loved it, visually it’s very weel achieved as every Scorsese. And I felt like it was a modern Taxi Driver.

i’ve only seen it once though…think i’ll watch it again.

I didn’t find it as bad as many people said it was but it’s certainly not as great as many of his other films. There’s something lacking in that film, can’t put my finger on it.

The story isn’t 100% achieved. I should rewatch it but I kinda understoof at the time what the problem was (for me at least). But it’s visually and in term of atmosphere, very great. You can’t dislike it in theater at least. Maybe it’s not the same effect on a TV screen.

The trailer looks like it was shot by a good Hollywood yes man, not by the guy who directed Casino.
