On some of the newer ones I think, other then that it’s switching the VCD in the middle of an action scene. It’s really a fuckin drag, and you have to fuck with the sound also because it automatically dubs itself over in three languages with two layer burned on subtitles. AGGGHHHHH I HATE VCD

Nope, the high quality video on Laser Discs took approx.20-25 minutes of data on each disc. It also depended on the type of sound stored on the disc, because if it was mono and there never was a suround sound setting, then each side could hold more video.
The next up and coming multimedia disc is going to be BluRay. 25gb or 50gb of space on a single disc the size of a CD.
Imagine, every LotR movie on the same disc witih all the extras right there too. StarWars, Matrix, Jurassic Park trilogies on all on 1 disc each, with more special footage crud than you can shake a stick at.
