He likes playing the kind of character who seems like he’s about to crack at any moment…Shining, Batman, Cuckoo’s Nest, Witches of Eastwick. And he’s the best in the business in that kind of role. But not ALL his roles are like that. Two examples: Chinatown and About Schmidt.

Keanu Reeves is a living example of why actors hate to be typecast. He played a flake in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, so when he tries a serious dramatic role, such as The Lake House, some in the audience just keep expecting him to start rambling about that sock rates guy and that beeth oven guy.
I just produced an indie documentary about the US drug war, and my DP refuses to do the sequel, wanting to do a zombie flick instead, as he fears being typecast as “that weed guy”. It’s a serious problem indeed, if one wants a career. Of course, Keanu could try producing an indie film or two, and maybe play some more-experimental roles

dude, do u really like him. I mean he was good in the Matrix Trilogy, but thats it. If you want to here the worse line of dialogue ever, watch the trailer for “A Scanner Darkly” where he says “you mean two hemispheres of my brain are competing”. That is the absolute worst acting ever. And the way he delivers that line is just like all his other works. He really isnt that great at all, in fact he’s not even good. So, no, Keanu’s douche does not get entered into me, i wouldnt allow it. He’s a shit actor.
