Superhero pic nabs five sci-fi awards

"Spider-Man 2" swung to victory Wednesday with five Saturn Awards, presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
The film picked up prizes for film (fantasy), actor (Tobey MaguireTobey Maguire), director (Sam RaimiSam Raimi), writer (Alvin Sargent) and special effects during the 31st annual event.
“Kill Bill: Vol. 2” came in a close second with three Saturns, including film (action/adventure/thriller), supporting actor (David Carradine) and supporting actress (Daryl HannahDaryl Hannah).
Television was also honored. ABC drama “Lost” received a Saturn for network television series as well as a supporting actor nod for Terry O’Quinn.
Television presentation went to the miniseries “Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars.” MiniMini also received nods for actor (Ben Browder) and actress (Claudia Black).
The Life Career Awards went to Fox Filmed Entertainment co-chairman Tom Rothman and producer and writer Stephen J. CannellStephen J. Cannell. A Special Recognition Award went to 'Star Trek" for its 18-year television run. Kerry ConranKerry Conran was also honored with the Filmmakers Showcase Award.
