Inglourious Basterds Script Reviews

Which reminds me, I need to watch Rio Bravo again.

Back on topic a bit, I watched Dirty Dozen for the first time probably when I was about 12. I loved it, loved the premise, I had never seen anything like it. It’s actually similar to my “wanting to hang out with the characters” yearning when I watch a film. Because it really did feel like you hang out with them, go through what they do. I haven’t thought about this much, but this is the first QT film that is (slightly) based on one of my favourite films from when I was a young boy. Perhaps that will play a significant part for me. Similarly, since QT was a young boy, he also loved war films and would act out scenes from them using his action figures. So IB has a strong personal connection with him (moreso than his other films). It just means that he will put that much more heart into it.

I will that agree Jackie Brown is more Rio Bravo than what Death Proof is. Which leaves me with another question: for anyone who have read Rum Punch, how much of the dialog is Quentin’s?

Anyways, I’m so excited for this that I’m almost pissing my pants, which may have something to do with me not having gone to the loo for a while. Still, it looks like the script in question is indeed QT’s, as they seem similiar. How the hell did they get it though? How do people get stuff like that?

I’m glad he took out lot of the stuff. While I have never seen it, it couldn’t hurt the film that much, could it? 600 pages is very long, but so is a 150-minute movie. Besides, we’re getting the best stuff, aren’t we? Still, is this film going to end with the Bastards killing Hitler? Err… okay…

Characters names so far:

Lt. Aldo Raine aka Aldo The Apache

Donny Donowitz aka The Bear Jew

Also Babe Buchinsky, no?

Stallone, Schwartzenegger, Willis, Sandler. It’s all been delayed by Tarantino. Lohan on the other hand is a sure bet.

oh, long time ago. i suggest reading the novel, it’s worth the time. QT took his liberties, but it is an adaptation. the thing is, that Leonard and Tarantino have characters that are very much alike, that also applies to the dialoge

I’ve been thinking about it, though I guess I should probably read the original and not the translated version.

Of course there’s similarities between them. The first time I watched I thought QT had written it, because the characters were so… him, you know?

I looked through a lot of the pages of Rum Punch a couple of times and I didn’t see any dialogue in there that was similar to that in Jackie Brown.

Doubt Quentin Tarantino All You Want - But INGLORIOUS BASTARDS Will Carve Its Mark Into Your...

How fuckin’ great isn’t this!?

Sounds cool.

it’s unlike any other script review as in it doesn’t really talk about the script at all just how happy he is to be able to talk about how great it is… Harry, where’s the actual review?

WOW! I had to rush offline yesterday after I posted the first script overview. Talk about trying to catch up!

Wow, Lt. Aldo seems like one mean son-of-a-bitch. I like it!!

"If you took the bad guy swagger of RESERVOIR DOGS, the uber coolness and structure of PULP FICTION, throw in the revenge angle of KILL BILL, set it in World War II – you get INGLORIOUS BASTERDS."

Haha, is this not what we wanted to hear?! :stuck_out_tongue:

You better believe it, kid! Exactly what I wanted to hear.

I really hope he rounds up an excitable cast for this one.

Now this first look is enough to get anyone PUMPED!

There’s no way it will be as good as or better than Pulp Fiction…but anywhere close is good enough for me.

Lohan would be like Fergie in Planet Terror. While watching the movie, I had only one desire, make her die hard, ahaha.

I wonder if he’ll work any feet scenes, hahaha. If he knows what’s good for him, he’ll not cast Lindsey Lohan. That phase is over with Death Proof – time for some real actors again!

Babe must be in there somewhere. What I was wondering is, if QT is only going to cast only Jewish actors or just let anyone try out to play Jewish.

I don’t think he’d cast only jewish actors cause it’d limite and reduce his choices for the cast.

why would he do that?

What do you guys think of this blaring when the Bastards are flying into unknown territory!

What makes you think he won’t top Pulp Fiction with Inglorious Bastards?
