…wrote it, produced it or directed it or something would you see this as a betrayal. i would. i noted m night shyalaman wrote a kids show about a mouse stewart little or something so he’s not exclusively a moviemaker for adults now. m nights style is interesting. his shows give the impression that the ultimate answer to the questions will be disclosed. they unfold slowly and with such importance. i wouldn’t say they’re empty but they are glorified genre films primarily. that’s why he’s so good. it’d be weird if qt did a kids show wouldn’t you say? i’m aware that rodriguez made those spy kids shows and they did look cool and had amazing casts. it was like he gave us planet terror/grindhouse to make up for it, as though to say to his hardcore action/genre fans i haven’t deserted you hello i’m still here for the gore-exploitation crowd where it all began…
Interesting how this subject about QT doing a movie for kids pops up again and again.
Like I said before, it would be fantastic if he did one, in the style of BMX Bandits, Goonies, 3 Ninjas, … etc.
The Goonies is one of the best kid movie EVER. With Home Alone 1 & 2. I can watch these movies over and over again even now. Great piece of movies. I want to show them to my kids without any doubts.
For the animation, The Land Before Time is the best ever. The music is so great that I still got tears when I hear it. It’s now the official theme of the Cannes Film Fest, I guess that’s why I love this festival so much too.

Yeh i liked that a lot as a kid… though now that i look back im pritty bothered by the way it has been censored and the fact that the cut scenes no longer exist… thanks a lot Spielberg/ Lucas…
I’ve never seen the new censored version. Maybe because the French version hasn’t been censored. What did they cut exactly ?

I think these cuts were made during production…
Spielberg and Lucas insisted on the cutting of around 10 minutes of footage from the final film. alot form the Rex attack sequence. Nineteen scenes were cut, including front-on scenes portraying the children in severe jeopardy and distress. In addition, the children’s screams were replaced with milder exclamations… Though the studio tried to maintain a pleasant face, the editing session was quite difficult to go through. Over $1 million of footage was left on the floor by the end of the session. This is when a large number of scenes considered “too intense” were trimmed… The director was against the cuts and fought for the scenes but eventually had to accept the cuts…
this is from the Land before time wiki
"As of today, the original cut of the film with the removed scenes has not been released on video or DVD."
Anyway there are lots of rumours about what exactly was cut but its hard to say for sure… but i still love it anyway… Unless the French version has a longer run time then 69min its probably no different…
Same runtime, then same version. Anyway, no need to be desperate about an original version if it has never been released.
Anyway back on topic, we’re the only one posting and getting into private conversations
It’s just that there was already a topic about this, and it was posted not long ago, so, I didn’t feel like repeating myself. Yes, I would love QT to do a kid’s movie, and he would do it damn well.
Im sure QT could do a wonderful and unique kids movie, and i would watch it, but he made 6movies in 17 years, and i dont think a kids movie would fill 3 years for me. If it came outa nowhere id be happy, but as it takes his time it would be stopping him from doing other movies (i want KB 3. really. I would pay like 200 Bucks to see it once if it existed, i sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart its not another Vega brothers thing), so i wouldnt really like the news.

I’ll never understand why people want him to do stuff like a kill bill 3 or that vega brothers project. First off, they’ll never be as great as we’d expect them to be based on expectation and secondly, Quentin isn’t a sequel kind of filmmaker. I like that he goes in different directions and doing a kids movie would be a complete 360 and might be very refreshing.
I doubt he’d ever do one. How could he properly express himself… he was watching violent westerns when he was in short shorts. Let him make grown up films.

That’s funny, because he only made one mature movie yet: Jackie Brown. Everything else is high-level entertainment for big children. That’s the reason the kids movie idea comes up every now and then, and also the reason his best friend is Rodriguez, another big kid. And don’t mistake what I’m saying for critique, it is intended as praise.
