A sherriff’s patrol car pulls into the parking lot. A SHERRIF exits the car, and cracks his knees, then enters the Gas Station.

INT: GAS STATION
The SHERRIF approaches the counter. PETE stands behind the counter.
PETE
Hey man what can I do for ya?
SHERRIF
