On Ebert & Roeper, Richard Roeper gave it a thumbs up. Said it was alot of fun. His guest critic didnt. The other guy said if you want to see a good Grindhouse homage rent Death Proof instead!! haha!

Ebert is pretty rough on Bishopā¦ouch!
āAll these guys do is shoot one another and roll around in bars with naked girls with silicone breastsā- Ebert completely meant that in a negative way, but I think it backfired
"The movie was executive produced by Quentin Tarantino. Shame on him. He intends it no doubt as another homage to grindhouse pictures, but Iāve seen a lot of them, and they were nowhere near this bad. āHellās Angels on Wheels,ā for example: pretty good."
Iāve been saying it since day one that QT is losing his credibility by producing this type of shit.
have you seen it yet?
I think many reviewers are not getting the point. It may be a bad movie, but iāve also read a good number of fairly positive reviews out there by people whoāre into exactly the sort of movies this one wants to beā¦
the numbers are in on Hell Ride, which opened limited in the US this friday. Boxofficemojo lists it for only 82 theaters with an average intake on the film of about a thousand US dollars, totalling to an estimated $83,500 on the filmās first weekend. Considering the filmās only $4 million budget, and (I am only guessing wildly here) considering it might only make another 80 or 100 thousand over the course of the coming week or two, it would have to make lots of money in DVD and BluRay sales. No word yet on international releases of the film.

Hereās another very in depth interview with Larry Bishop:

The funny thing about this kind of movie is, people will pay 8 bucks to go see some true big budget Hollywood crap (lets be honest, most of it is these days), but then they wont go see this kind of film because its not all CGIād with popular teen actors. Id bet that this movie is just as entertaining as any other action movie out there. Its just more adult oriented. You cant say this film is crap and that the majority of everything else that comes out isnt. Its very hypocritical.
I still have to see it. If I do and I hate it, thats one thing. But if I enjoy it, Ill support it as much as any other film out there. Im not prejudice against any kinds of movies. If they are entertaining, its all good to me.
Another thing I like about this film is its sorta under the radar, its a rebellious type of movie. So what if Hollywood isnt pimping it 100%? That means I cant like it? Not at all.

ā¦says the guy that co-wrote a bunch of Russ Meyer flicks. WTF? If thats not hypocritical, I dont know what is.
hadnāt thought of that. right. what a jerk
Why is everyone in Hollywood so above movies that arent A list? Has it ever mattered? If a movie is entertaining, its entertaining right? Sheesh.

Well, maybe itās not entertaining. We havenāt seen it yet, right?
I think Ebert is far from a snob critic. He loved nearly every QT movie to date.

Well before we see it, theres no need to bash it right? Lets at least see it before we call it shit etc.
this flick has enough hot chicks to make me forgive, should it be kinda badā¦
Its called Hell Ride, its a biker flick. What should people expect? Crazy characters, violence, hot chicks. Its not like its promising audiences a cinematic landmark. A fun night at the movies. Thats good enough for me.
my words exactly. it might still be ⦠bad in some way⦠but really, itās not aiming at being next springās oscars contender⦠itās all about the three Bs! iām sold!
this oneās not much of a review, but its bottom line is fairly positive

[quote]Hell Ride Bikes, booze, boobs Ć¢ā¬ā the holy trinity of '60s biker flicks dominate this postmodern homage-parody destined to be a late night bro-bonding cult hit. Created by moto-movie hero Larry Bishop with prodding (and production money) from B master Quentin Tarantino, Hell Ride is for devout schlocksters and gearheads. The plotās flimsy Ć¢ā¬ā something vague about a girl, rival gangs, brotherhood, and revenge. The dialogueās stale, except for a few QT-sprinkled gems. The sex is signature softcore at its most excruciating. And the characters, with a the exception of Dennis Hopperās brief but show-stealing nod to his Easy Rider past, are flat. Mostly, the film is just a vehicle for bloody brawls, mud wrestling by double D-cups, and peyote-fueled desert rides. So embrace it. Knock back a six-pack of Pabst and a pint of Jack, don a faux leather vest and temporary tats, and get your buddies in a group headlock to hurl rowdy Rocky HorrorĆ¢ā¬āstyle comebacks at the screen. Seb you should see if they can send you a early screener DVD or something.
bet your exploitation-lovinā ass on that, brotha. I sure will
great Hopper interview on video, but no talk about Hell Ride, still worth watching though:
