On the surface a lot of the antics of his subjects, usually the fringe groups, look stupid and immature but it’s the way Korine pays careful attention to them and how real they are. He can find beauty in trash like no one else. This film could go either way, as any experiment could but to write off a few out of context clips is ignorant, frankly.[/quote]
Think whatever you’d like, I know that I’ve seen films far more strange than Korine’s work will ever be and I know I’m an open minded viewer, so whatever. I can’t help it, to me it’s silly looking and gets a laugh out of me. Who knows, maybe I’ll someday stumble upon it and find it terribly interesting and everything I’ve been searching for in cinema but for right now - not interested. Not when I have so many other flicks that actually do interest me waiting on my viewing.
