I am a huge fan of filmmakers using whatever format aesthetically suits their film. Cellphones, VHS, Pixelvision, MiniDV, 8 mm. I love that aspect of independent film too. Nick Zedd, the Kuchar Brothers, Richard Kern. Making their own street epics on little to no money. It’s so inspiring.

I wholeheartedly agree with you because that’s the way I do it. I’m starting production on a miniDV film right now called “Pocahontas”. Sometimes it’s just the better way to go because it’s cheaper, it’s easier, doesn’t require a team to use and gives me the grimey look I like.
I haven’t seen any of Sadie Benning’s stuff but I will right now.
