Grindhouse & Kill Bill in Rapper's lyrics against Fox news on Colbert Show 7/23

#1

Rapper NaS, he mentions them actually to defend himself against accusations of using too much violence in his music. The rap was pretty good, complaining about O’Reilly and Murdoch. He was one of the people who tried to deliver today, to Fox News, boxes of thousands of signatures on a petition to stop making racist remarks about the Obamas.

[Verse 3:NaS]

They say I’m all about murder-murder and kill-kill

But what about Grindhouse and Kill Bill?

What about Cheney and Halliburton?

The backdoor deals

On oil fields

How’s NaS the most violent person?

Not a great tribute to QT, but what the hell, it’s a mention. There’s plenty of violence in all those dumb movies that come out too (including most superhero comics movies). QT’s are at least a lot smarter.

Nas album is an instant classic.

yeah I saw that, it was a good performance. I flinched when he said Grindhouse and kill bill but I get his point. “Colbert” was really harsh on him last night. Nas knows it’s all satire though. I’ve met people who don’t realize that Colbert is a satirical character played by Colbert.
