Totally agree man! I mean the oscars are the standards for everything now. I also think that they are underestimating their own people.
People don’t want to see poorly made clones of american work, but want something original from our own grounds.
I think if we all get that arrogance back and believe in ourselves that we be kicking the shit out of the world again if you re talking about cinema.
I would love to see another Fellini, Godard, Truffaut, Melville, Visconti, etcetera stand up and do their thing. The problem is that nobody will take that risk…its all made by hollywood standards.
I ain’t saying that hollywood is bad, but everything in art should be made with your fucking heart! not by someone else’s standards.
Stop calling it the movie industrie and get back to making art.
