You’re right, i used to watch violent movies with my dad all the time. And as far as i can remember i haven’t killed anyone yet…

Today three teenagers cut a taxi driver and it’s passenger with a katana in my town. One even had a little handaxe like crazy 88’s. After Kill Bill was shown, there have been three accidents with a samurai sword now.
But Tarantino is right, movies don’t make kids violent, only somehow makes already violent kids think that they should unleash their violence.

Those are some of the smartest words I’ve heard in a long time…these stupid politicians thinking everything violent thing (games, movies, etc) make killers out of children. Parents need to hear these words and understand them so they aren’t such hardasses on their kids about what they view because of what it’s contents are.

Now those are some of the smartest words I’ve heard in a long time.
My version of the “Violent movies don’t…” phrase would be
"Violent movies don’t make kids violent. They just give ideas to violent kids who don’t have great imagination."
Now something from QT, himself.
“Sure, Kill Bill is violent. Sure, it’s fucking intense. But it’s a Tarantino movie. You don’t go to a Metallica concert and ask the fuckers to turn the music down.”
Quentin Tarantino on Stanley Kubrick’s film A Clockwork Orange:
“I always thought Kubrick was a hypocrite, because his party line was, I’m not making a movie about violence, I’m making a movie against violence. And it’s just, like, Get the fuck off. I know and you know your dick was hard the entire time you were shooting those first twenty minutes, you couldn’t keep it in your pants the entire time you were editing it and scoring it. You did it for those first twenty minutes. And if you don’t say you did, you’re a fucking liar.”
“If Kill Bill Vol.1 was an album, it would be a greatest hits record.”
“Sure, I think the scene is pretty horrible. [The Reservoir Dogs ear-cutting scene] I didn’t make it for yahoos to hoot and holler. It’s supposed to be terrible. But I didn’t show it to convey a message. I don’t think Stanley Kubrick was condemning violence in Clockwork Orange. He wanted to film that stuff. It was cinematically exciting. He loved mocking ‘Singin’ in the Rain.’ Clint Eastwood fortunately decided to finish The Unforgiven in the right way, by taking everyone out. Did you see Patriot Games? It’s a revenge movie, but they don’t let Harrison Ford get to kill the bad guy at the end. The guy falls on a shovel, which is an asinine, chicken-shit way to kill the villain. They should go to movie jail for this! The only way to end it is for Harrison Ford to beat this guy to death.”
“If you’re working from a true place as a writer, I always feel you should be just a little embarrassed when you hand it in, because you will be revealed. All that stuff isn’t on the surface of this movie. It’s buried inside of it. All I can say is, if I went and saw “Kill Bill,â€? I wouldn’t be able to even think about seeing another movie until I saw “Kill Billâ€? again. I’d feel like, “That’s a movie like sex. That’s a movie like drugs,â€? you know? “I can’t even think of another girl until I’ve had another piece of that pussy. I’ve got to get high on that drug again, like, tomorrow.â€?”
