Yeah, I see what you mean. I hate those people who only watch movies so they can be educated or informed in some way so they can actually fucking feel superior to the rest of the human race. But I also hate it when someone makes a Hollywood film, and just pulls the script out of their ass and whatever just so they can make a few million bucks to support their coke habit and buy a fancy new Porsche. I mean, the guys who directed Saw just sold the rights to Saw 2 to some random people, and they’re not even going to be involved. 1. I think a sequel would just be dumb and 2. I think they’re kinda sell-outs for handing their ideas away just to make a quick buck.
My ideal dream project would be to do something like QT did with Kill Bill- make a really kickass epic action/grindhouse (that still has a lot of arthouse qualities) and make it for half the budget to make a reasonable profit.
