Anybody read Cell? Thoughts on Eli Roth doing it?
I think I might like Dead Zone more than Carrie…
Dead Zone is good but I dont think its as good as Carrie. It just doesnt have as many iconic scenes. Its not as well directed either. I like Cronenberg, but its pretty simplistic for a King adaptation.

Carrie gets my vote…the dead zone just kind of dragged along. Carrie never once did that.
Carrie, The Shining, The Green Mile and Christine are great.
Edit : The Shawshank Redemption is too but I haven’t read the short story, so can’t compare. Has someone already read it ?
Every one on that list is a great movie. When you’ve written as many stories as King, there are bound to be a few that even his biggest fans can’t stand.

The novella is better.
I’m still amazed when I watch the Shining. Carrie & Misery are among my other top favorites. IT scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Clowns still freak me out!
I guess you’re very fond of my avatar then.

I’ll admit I try not to look at it too often when I’m on here! In my defense fear of clowns is a very common phobia! ^-^

Id like it if someone made a film/ tv version of kings short story The Raft…

Oopse they did.. my bad..
The Shining. What is better really? I mean come on, a great actor, a great director (No, the greatest director ever), great color, great feel, great story. It’s eye catching, and like alot of people say, people who hates horror movies still love the Shining. That is how big it is.
I’m not saying the other movies are bad. It’s just that there are 3 sections of King Adaptation movies:
The sucky ones: 1408, The Shining (t.v. remake), etc.
The great ones: Salem’s Lot, Carrie, IT, Pet Sematary, Cujo, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, etc.
The legendary one: Kubrick’s The Shining
Look, who cares if King didn’t like Kub’s Shining. It was Kubrick’s film. Not King’s film. That is what we are talking about right? The best movie? We already seen how King’s T.V. version of the Shining went. It sucked. Kubrick made The Shining what it is today. Of course it was King’s story, but I don’t think The Shining would be as iconic as it is today without Kubrick and Jack. That might be a fact. No, that is a fact. Can you think of the Shining without thinking of the coloring of the carpet, the camera angles throughout the halls following Danny, Jack’s face, etc. All of that would be totally different if Kubrick didn’t do it. I don’t want to think about how the outcome would have looked.
