"and i know what we can do "

Long Weekend is pretty good even though its kind of a rip off the birds

The Road Warrior

"Greetings from The Humungus! The Lord Humungus! The Warrior of the Wasteland! The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!"

“Be still my dog of war. I understand your pain. We’ve all lost someone we love. But we do it my way! We do it my way. Fear is our ally. The gasoline will be ours. Then you shall have your revenge.”

I like Heaven’s Burning

Romper Stomper

Gallipoli

BMX Bandits is my favourite Aussie movie ever and one of my favourite movies of all time. I absolutely love it, really. And it’s not like a nostalgia thing either for me, like I found out about it and loved it as a kid in the 80s, NO. I found out about it when I was 22 (which i still am, for 2 months) and completely fell in love with it.

Like, I love Mad Max, but BMX Bandits just wipes the floor with it, you know?

Call me crazy but that’s what i think.

Moulin Rouge was good too btw.

hmmm seems way back in 2005 i was pritty harsh on Australian films… or mabye i wasnt being serious… anyway there are alot of Australian films i like…

I just read that one of my favorite movies is gonna be remade…The Long Weekend. Im not quite happy about nor am i sad about it.

The director of Wolf Creek is tackling a $20 million giant crocodile film at the moment. I hope it’s good. If it is, it will probably revive the Australian film industry. Otherwise, we’re fucked.

I cant wait!

Just saw Long Weekend. I loved it.

Has anybody seen Hercules Returns? FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER!

And does anyone remember the movie that was about Schoolies? I can’t remember the name, but it was hilarious. My high school drama teacher was one of the writers of the original script as it was for a Uni assignment.

Australia

Haha. Hi-Larious!

I can’t believe you saw a Hugh Jackman movie - gross!

Oh, wait I saw that new Wolverine movie. It sucked. I noticed there weren’t that many women in it.

I wish Not Quite Hollywood would get released on DVD here damnit!

Im from NZ and would have to say Chopper and Wolf Creek.

First of all, holy shit I can’t believe this topic is is still active. I created it in 2005 :stuck_out_tongue:

Second of all, no Not Quite Hollywood release yet? Any cinema releases or festivals?

Some of the best westerns i’ve ever seen have come out of australia in one way or another recently - either by virtue of an australian director or company.

The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford (one of my fave movies)

The Proposition.
