The Beatles are Pink Floyds own personal bitch Hahaha!

Damn right.
I am a huge pink floyd fan, but they are no Beatles. Musically, they are superior. In sales, they are superior. In fame, they are superior. Maybe someone should shoot David Gilmour on his doorstep and give Pink Floyd immortality!

How in the Hell are The Beatles superior to Pink Floyd musically? And Dark Side of the Moon has sold more than any Beatles album. Fame means shit all. Pink Floyd made a decision right at the start that what they were after wasn’t all the fame and being worshipped etc (Hence why they don’t appear on all but a couple of album covers). Pink Floyd are already immortal, and it’s “David Gilmour”, dumbass.
If you listen to a Beatles song - any Beatles song - try to separate all of the instruments and listen to them individually. You will hear that they are all excellent tracks of music. Pink Floyd has some really cool highlights as well, but for the most part they rely on delay effects and gimmicks. Don’t get me wrong, I totally apprecaite their talent: “Money” has a 7/8 time signature that is extremely hard to play, let alone write. I also believe that Roger Waters and David Gilmour did create the Dark Side of the Moon in order to be played in conjunction with The Wizard of Oz, which is a huge creation of musical genius. But the fact remains: The Beatles are probably the most forward thinking and innovative band of the twentieth century. They created mass hysteria among their fan base and they created timeless classiscs such as: Blackbird, A Day in the Life, Rocky Racoon, Strawberry Fields, Yellow Submarine, Come Together, Elenor Rigby, and so many more #1 hits that I can’t remember them all. In reality, Pink Floyd has a few that made an impact on the musical scene: Time, Money, Another Brick in the Wall, Us and Them, and maybe a couple of others. Only real Pink Floyd fans know any more of their songs. Like I said, I am a huge Floyd fan, but I am also realistic: The Beatles ARE the fathers of modern music.

According to EMI and the Guinness Book of Records, The Beatles have sold in excess of 1,010,000,000 units (including cassettes, records, CDs, bootlegs). The only other artist to come close is Elvis Presley, with a similar number.
Pink Floyd: One of rock music’s most successful and influential acts, the group has sold over 200 million albums worldwide
[1][2] and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone.[3]
Beatles = 1 billion units
Pink Floyd = 200 million units
I’m not mathmatician, but that appears to be 1/5 of The Beatle’s sales.
no words needed

Hey, I never said overall. I said Dark Side has sold more than any other Beatles Album, which it has.
The Beatles made more songs than The Floyd, and not all of them are “all that”. The Floyd are in a totally different league. Beatles made a lot of pop songs. Floyd were about epics, and or little masterpieces. There is so much depth to Floyd’s music, the same can’t be said about The Beatles.

OK, listen. I prefer Pink Floyd to The Beatles. But then again, I eat sushi and sardines. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion. I think that overall, The Beatles are a more influential and successful band. You are right, sales and ratings mean shit. Grateful Dead only had one song with radio play “touch of Grey”, and it never got very high up in the charts. Grateful Dead is still one of the most followed and influential bands in history - a cesspool of talent and musical genius. I think the most Beatles fans are probably Pink Floyd fans as well, so in the grand scheme of things - it doesn’t really matter.

Well I guess you’re right in a sense. They aren’t nesessarily competing against each other. What matters at the end of the day is if the music moves you or not, and without a shadow of a doubt, I haven’t heard anyone or anything else which moves me more than the Pink Floyd Sound. David Gilmour’s guitar sound in particular, it’s truly something to behold. I have no problem with saying that Pink Floyd’s music brings a tear to my eye (in a good way for anyone trying to make a joke), something which hardly anthing else can! The Beatles are great yeah, sure they were famous, they might have earned more money, that is besides the overall point I’m trying to make (and which you have already addressed).
Musically, I feel The Pink Floyd are far superior to anything else out there. It’s a perfect combination between the 4 members (or 3 if the case maybe), and I love every single one of their albums. There are maybe 1 or 2 songs that I don’t like that much. The Beatles just don’t do that for me. I have yet to come across someone that don’t think The Floyd are that good, nevermind hate them. That tells you a whole lot.

What’s with the grin? Don’t you like the album?

Yes, its my favorite Pink Floyd album thats why I did the grin.

Well that was truly an anti-climax. So far Kilgore has admitted his prefers The Floyd over The Beatles, and Me has stated his fav PF album, but no bad words against the Floyd yet or indeed any words saying how exactly The Beatles are superior to The Floyd musically. I really would like to get you started on this matter. I’m curious. Go on, enlighten me.
I used to live near New Mexico when I was going to school in Lubbock, Texas. I liked to get in the car, smoke a fat joint, and drive through the mountains while listening to The Dark Side of the Moon over and over. I would usually follow that one up with some Jeff Beck and maybe a little Mazzy Star. All in all, I was high as a kite and having a grand old time - courtesy of Pink Floyd.

The Pink Floyd do exactly the same thing. I was under the impression (certainly from most of The Beatles songs I’ve heard) that they record fewer tracks than the Floyd on a song.
