I hope QT got his foot jones with Death Proof. As much as I can appreciate feet, I dont want to see so much of them in his future films. I mean, he put two big feet in the opening credits of the movie. Thats enough. Keep that foot fetish shit on simmer old pal.

Why are those your favorite shots?

The first one: That’s my favourite scene in the movie (which doesn’t automatically mean it should include my favourite shot, though). I love how everything is set (positioned) there. The traffic on the background, the parked cars, the camera height. Just everything. And it works even better in the film when you can hear the traffic (and no music).

The second one: much for the same reasons, how the objects (yeah, I just called women objects ;D) are set, and the distances. I also think there’s quite a bit of Leone in there… And I like Mary Elizabeth Winstead  I don’t know if the JP pop culture influences in her character are intentional but i appreciate it nevertheless.

Now I’d like to see other people’s favourite shots. And don’t give me 50 screencaps but only 1-3. I want people to make their mind about what they consider the very best. Or if there’s just some random shot that you’d like to bring up that’s okay, too. But no 50 caps, there’s no point in that.

I would do screenshots but my Comps DVD region is locked. So I cant grab any from the DVD. If I could Id have this topic filled.

That low angle shot of MEW reminds me of the shots in slasher films when the killer is watching someone from a distance and you only see their lower body. Its a foreboding type shot.

the disc is region free.

and to what region have you managed to lock it anyway?

Well I tried running it on my comp and it didnt play. It says Region 1 on it. My comp will play other region free DVDs. I dont know why it wont play that one.

The player only plays Region Free/Region 3 now. It pisses me off too because I really could use the player to do screengrabs of my region 1 dvds. The whole region code thing is dumb. DVD players should just play everything.

I like the shoot were Kim says “be back to pick you up, lateh!” and MEW says gulp. nice composition, and MEW looks gorgeous.

I came up with a new theory about Mike in the two halves:

In QTs movies hes known to have his characters wear the black and white suits which he has referred to as their “suits of armor”.

If you take that idea and place it in Death Proof, youll notice that in the first half of the film Mike is wearing his shiny silver racing jacket. And he is pretty much the human version of the Convoy duck on his hood. Hes even got the pompadour ducktail style hair and if you look close in certain shots his eyes even look silver. In this half he IS Death Proof. Nothing can kill him becauses hes got his jacket on (his suit of armor).

In the second half, Mike never wears his silver jacket/armor and thats why he is vulnerable to attack and he is ultimately killed because of it.

You a smart motherfucka, Pete.

Tanks Max!

Tanks!? WHERE!? hiding

Your new nick should be Groucho Max!

I saw a coke bottle drinking a nice tall frosty lady in the lobby.

Excuse me while I slip out of this wet suit and into a dry martini!

I never forget a face, but in your case I’ll be glad to make an exception.
