“This CGI bullshit is the death knell of cinema. If i’d wanted all that computer game bullshit, I’d have gone home and stuck my dick in my Nintendo” -Quentin Tarantino

With that quote he meant using CGI inappropriately. The particular event he was referring to when Tarantino said that was the CGI used in The Matrix: Reloded, and I’m sure you’ll agree it looks very cartoonish (fake). He meant he doesn’t like films that over use CGI and how more and more people are using it and so it’s therefore killing the art form. I agree with him 100% with that. Film-makers are getting too lazy and use CGI too much, it’s different when it comes to stuff like using it to create bullet holes in walls (Once Upon A Time In Mexico), or getting rid of wires or to execute cool moments which would be impossible to do any other way (the gun shooting scene in The Brides flash back, Kill Bill), but to use it to create a person, or to use in a fight scene is just ridiculous. Anyways, lets not make this into a CGI: The Great Future of Cinema or The Death Knell of Cinema?
