CSI: Grave Danger

I only got to see the last hour but from what I saw it was very good, and I’m not even a fan of csi.

All I can say is fantastic! I’ve watched CSI (the original) since it started, and this was just brillant. The way he gets actors to work is amazing. You could feel his dialog and directing style throughout the entire thing.

Did u guys notice that guy in the Lucio Fulci shirt. Goes great with the buried alive theme. There was also that line from Kill Bill: "Normally you’d be 100% right. But this time you’re 100% wrong."

QT was right when he said you could tell he made it.

I’ve been very busy this week and forgot to set my DVR. If anyone has a link to a bittorent of the show please let share it with the rest of those who didn’t have a chance to see this. Thanks.

Very good so far! You can tell it’s him directing by the use of music and the time-jump scenes. Ernie from Vol. 2 made a cameo as a lawyer.

Yeah, I recognized him as that cowboy hat-wearing lawyer.

I’m pretty sure the cop you pukes at the very beginning of the show was played by none other than Mr. Tommy Plympton himself, Chris Nelson. The Bride would be proud.

I usually don’t watch CSI, but of course I watched this one. You could tell, it was QT, it had blood, body parts, “look I found a thumb”. And the dream sequence was classic. I kept expecting Wes Craven to walk into the scene. But it’s the wierd shit that goes through your head when you’re really sick and think, ‘this is the end’.

Tony Curtis and Frank Gorshin were pretty cool too. The two old guys with the casino owner, for those who didn’t recognise. QT must have got a buzz out of that.

I dont wanna give too much away for those waiting for July, but it’s a must see y’all.

I can’t wait to see this!!

When the lid was first shut on George Eads while filming Nick Stokes’ coffin scenes in “Grave Danger,” the actor didn’t expect to be able to hear from the crew again until after his scene was done. It’s not hard to imagine his shock when he suddenly heard Quentin Tarantino’s voice coming through the ventilation tube.

“I didn’t know he was going to use it as a way to communicate with me,” Eads said on last night’s edition of the Entertainment Tonight. “Once, they were shooting everybody running around outside the coffin and I hear this, ‘Hey Nick, it is Quentin.’ It was like the voice of God. I was, ‘Man, you are freaking me out, don’t do that.’ To say that it was intimate with him is putting it lightly. He was all up in my grill. That is the way I like to work.”

Tarantino used the tube to get Eads to let his imagination go and really place himself in the mental state of his character. “[Tarantino said,] ‘Your mom’s watching. Your mom’s watching you die.’ And then he’d start singing ‘Hush little baby, don’t you…’ I mean the whole crew is going, ‘whoa.’ I think it had the right effect, it brought out some pretty real emotions.”

Even if Eads was pleased with the performance Tarantino was able to elicit from him, the actor also admitted that while filming the finale, he probably spent a bit more time thinking about matters of life and death than he’d ordinarily want to. “Mentally mentally for a few days, I was in that box contemplating my death, which is something I stay away from,” he said. “Quentin had me contemplating it hourly for three days. We really went down a pretty deep wormhole with the whole death thing and that was pretty strenuous after a while.”

But during the several weeks it took to shoot “Grave Danger,” Eads and Tarantino also went through some lighter moments. The actor recalled how “one scene, [Tarantino] wasn’t really fired up about, so during lunch, he rewrote the entire thing with a pencil, and brought it to me and [Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown), and we did it ten minutes later.” The actor began to laugh, as he confessed to interviewer Kevin Frazier that Tarantino’s “spelling was just atrocious.”

That was the Best CSI ever QT is GOD

You always see Q whispering into his actors ears on set. wonder what he sung to David carradine

That was kind of cheeky to have the episode titled with volume 1 & 2.

Anyhow - I loved it - I never watch CSI on the regular but always liked Peterson (Will Graham from Manhunter). The suspense was real good in this episode especially with the ANTS - didn’t see that coming. The little bit at the end with the coroners tearing up his body was pretty funny.

C.S.I (Maybe) to be in C.I.N.E.M.A!

That was probably one of the best t.v. shows I’ve ever seen. I love how he used the classic “gang” shot at the end. I’m so glad I recorded it. I’ll be watching that one over and over. So, it doesn’t come out until July outside the U.S.?

Oh, and another thing, there was a poster of Cabin Fever in one of the scenes. I thought that was rather amusing. It was a really awful movie, but I think I remember seeing pictures of QT at the premier?

Also Q is friends with the director Eli Roth, didnt he read throught his script and help him in some way recently?

Eli Roth Interview:
Then, when you hear that Quentin Tarantino said that “Cabin Fever was one of his favorite independent films of the year, you start to think, ‘What planet am I on?’
Thats got to be my fav CSI ever! (and its just not because QT directed it) When I saw the lawer I was like omg its Ernie! Anyone know the song at the end where Nick has that vision of the doctor cutting him open and theres like some old country playing on the radio.

I don’t know. All I’ve heard is that England gets the finale in July. If I hear anything about other countries, I’ll post it

Man that was amazing. I can never seem to catch csi from the begining of the episode (I made sure I saw this one) so I’ve only seen a few but man that episode made me want to become a die hard fan. I loved the dream sequence (classic tarantino) and the shot of the lead detective standing outside the house in the desert with the briefcase was really cool. He really did a good job of capturing what it would feel like being buried alive. I just wonder if anyone knows the song that was playing at the begining and nick sang throughout (country)? I cant believe my vcr messed up, I wonder if it’ll come on dvd seperatley… that would be nice.

I also loved the “Trigger” ownership certificate and the Dukes of Hazzard board game. I bet those both belong to QT.

The episode was really good, but wish QT could of shown at least one trunk shot. But im not going to be too greedy. And the black and white sequence was really good. I didnt like it being labled CSI Volumes 1 and 2, cause it was just one show. Maybe if they would of made it were the show left u at a cliffhanger and the season premier countinue it. Hope i see more from QT on the televison genre.

Does anyone know if this episode will be released on DVD? I know it will eventually be on a CSI season box set but I’m always unearthing cheapo DVDs of season/series premieres and finales at WalMart, will this episode get said treatment? If they don’t have plans to do this yet they should think about it, I’d buy it first day. And if it included some of the interviews that were on CSI’s website, or if we’re really lucky, a commentary; I’d pay upward of $20 for it. Someone alert CBS because we DEMAND IT!
