carsploitation means nothing. on another hand, “car chasing films” as everyone always called it is a proper genre… and in this genre, my favorite in Paul Bartel’s Cannonball!
(having say that, 2 lane blacktop is a fucking masterpiece and one of the best films ever made…)
I call it Carsploitation. Only because its obvious the films used cars as exploitation tools to bring in audiences. Yes its sort of a made up thing but I like it. I dont use -ploitation for every single genre though.
Sexploitation, Blaxploitation, Hixploitation, Carsploitation. No Footsploitation or Assploitation. lol.

there was an 80’s movie called “speed zone” that was pretty cool. There was one scene where this kid was skipping stones across a lake when a Lambroghini going about 200mph skipped across the lake. It was a lot like cannonball run.
